Born and raised in Wellington, Brent began tattooing in 1998. He spent 6 years learning his craft in the Capital.
Interest to further his tattooing skills & see the world, Brent decided to head overseas in 2004. He spent the next 6 years working & travelling between NZ, Australia, UK and Europe. During that time he spent 3 years working at the iconic London tattoo studio Evil from the Needle, as well as guest spots at tattoo studios in Germany and Holland. He worked at various international tattoo conventions in London, Berlin, Krakow, Amsterdam, Paris, Wales, Sydney, as well as several conventions in New Zealand.
Brent arrived back in New Zealand in early 2010; he then went on to help establish Jackson Street Tattoo in June 2010. A passion for creating Maori and Pacific style tattoos, also enjoying Asian, and traditional Americana, he specialises in free-hand custom design and is confident developing most styles of tattoo. If you have an idea or a picture you would like to develop, give him a call or feel free to drop into the shop for a chat. He has enthusiasm to help bring people ideas to life.
Rohan has always had a love for art, skateboarding, music, and tattoos. He has also followed the history and traditions that go with each of these. Rohan had a fascination with tattoos from an early age, as he got older the interest and fascination grew stronger, which led him into a career in tattooing.
Rohan has a passion for painting with water color, which has influenced his style of traditional Americana tattoos. He enjoys the fact he can make a living doing a job that he truly loves - perfecting new tattoo styles and techniques.
Mike is latest edition to the Jackson Street team, having served his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Brent Ryan. His passion and determination to develop his tattooing has allowed him to learn the craft and progress very quickly.
Mike has an affinity for large scale Asian work; he also thrives on traditional America and fusion styles. Through watercolor painting he is able to develop the technical application for his tattoo work and further appreciate traditional motifs and composition.
